The pub is situated in the picturesque village of Mere Brow, Nr Tarleton.  Six miles East of the seaside town of Southport. Close to the Leisure Lakes with superb bike shop, Caravan and Camping at the Riverside Caravan Park, Woodlands Caravan Park and The Leisure Lakes,  Martin Mere Wildfowl Trust,  Trout fishing at Mere Beck Fishery.   Next door boast some excellent double figure carp at Mere Fishery, ask for Richard Thompson for top tips and hidden secrets of the lake.   Abundance of good coarse fishing venues nearby include The Leisure Lakes, Sephton Farm and Bannister House Fishery.

Southport is also well known for its' golfing history with many quality courses within a short distance including Southport Old Links, Hesketh, Royal Birkdale and Hillside.  Extremely close to the pub is a very good nine hole golf course at the Leisure Lakes Golf Academy which is extremely popular. Also there are many 12 bore shoots in the area.
